Maternity bras are soft cup, so that when breastfeeding the breast can change size during the day as the amount of milk fluctuates.

An underwire bra can put pressure on a full breast making it susceptible to mastitis or blocked milk ducts. A soft cup will allow the breast to fluctuate in size.
